Description
ICF Advanced Accreditation in Mentor Coaching, AAMC
Gain the Mentor Coach Specialization, MCS, and prepare for the new Mentor Coaching Registry.
The coaching profession is evolving, and mentor coaching is now being recognised more clearly than ever as a specialist practice in its own right. The International Coaching Federation has introduced the Mentor Coach Specialization, MCS, as a new global standard for mentor coaches, with January 2027 marking a key point of transition for mentor coaches within accredited programmes.
At BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME, we are ready for that next step.
Our ICF award-winning Mentor Coaching Certification has been successfully delivered globally for more than seven years, in numerous languages, and will remain a 40 ICF CCE programme while being upgraded to our ICF Advanced Accreditation in Mentor Coaching, AAMC, subject to ICF approval. Once the ICF system is fully open and our AAMC is approved, existing and new students will have their certificates backdated accordingly in line with the new framework.
This programme is also one part of our five-part ICF Level 3 pathway supporting coaches working toward MCC, making it a powerful option both for those seeking the MCS and for those progressing toward the highest level of ICF credentialing.
Why this matters now:
From January 2027, ICF is introducing new expectations for mentor coaches in accredited contexts. The MCS has been designed to strengthen consistency, quality, transparency and developmental rigour in mentor coaching practice. ICF states that the specialization includes at least 41 hours of mentor coach education aligned to the ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies, with at least 50% of that learning taking place synchronously.
For coaches, training providers and organisations, this means mentor coaching can no longer be treated as a light add-on. It requires specialist preparation in observing coaching, interpreting performance standards, offering developmental feedback and facilitating meaningful learning over time. That is exactly what this programme has been doing across the globe for years.
Why BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME
BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME has been delivering transformational coach education for more than 15 years using the award-winning CoachME methodology. We were the first coach training school to receive the ICF Coaching Impact Award, and our work has also been recognised through the ICF Middle East Prism Award. Our programmes are known for combining professional rigour with deep relational, systemic and reflective practice.
Our Mentor Coaching Certification has already supported coaches internationally in strengthening their practice, progressing toward ICF credentials, and becoming more skilful, discerning and confident practitioners. Now, through the AAMC pathway, that same highly regarded programme is being positioned to meet the new MCS landscape.
What this programme is:
This is advanced mentor coach education designed to prepare you to mentor coaches working toward ACC, PCC and MCC credentials. It is practical, developmental and highly applied. You will not simply learn how to interpret criteria. You will learn how to facilitate growth, calibrate judgement, offer feedback that is clear and compassionate, and support coaches in deepening their effectiveness in real sessions.
Our ICF award-winning Mentor Coaching Certification is aligned with the 2025 ICF Core Competencies, ACC and MCC Minimum Skills Requirements, and PCC performance markers. Recent ICF updates retain the eight core competencies while adding five new sub-competencies, revising eleven existing sub-competencies and introducing a glossary to support clearer interpretation and assessment standards.
Together, we explore how these updates place greater emphasis on coach self-awareness, reflective practice, bias awareness, clearer coaching agreements, client-generated learning and action, and the capacity to coach effectively in complex and diverse contexts.
What you will learn
You will develop the skills, knowledge and behavioural competencies required to mentor coaches in a way that is robust, developmental and aligned to current ICF expectations.
Key areas include:
Understanding the latest ICF competency refinements, definitions and terminology.
Interpreting ACC and MCC Minimum Skills Requirements and PCC performance markers used in credentialing assessments.
Observing coaching sessions and identifying strengths and development areas mapped to the competencies.
Providing clear, constructive and developmental feedback aligned with ACC, PCC and MCC expectations.
Supporting coaches to deepen coaching presence, listening, awareness and partnership with clients.
Developing the capability to facilitate mentor coaching conversations that accelerate learning and professional growth.
Understanding and practising best practice in handling challenge, stretch and difficult conversations within mentor coaching.
Becoming fully conversant with ICF credentialing and credential renewal requirements.
Strengthening record-keeping, documentation and administrative confidence in relation to mentor coaching requirements.
How we work
As with all BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME programmes, this training goes beyond technical interpretation. We integrate systemic, relational and reflective approaches so that mentor coaches are not only competent against standards, but also thoughtful, ethical and impactful in how they support others.
Expect a learning journey that includes:
live synchronous learning and practice
observation of coaching against ICF criteria
written and verbal developmental feedback
applied mentor coaching conversations
reflective practice
discussion of real coaching challenges
faculty support from highly experienced practitioners
global perspectives from a culturally diverse learning environment
This is not simply about passing information on. It is about shaping mentor coaches who can discern, challenge, encourage and develop other coaches with confidence and integrity.
Who this is for
This programme is designed for:
experienced coaches who want to gain the Mentor Coach Specialization
faculty and mentor coaches who need to align with the new MCS expectations
coaches supporting others toward ACC, PCC or MCC
coaches on the BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME four-part Level 3 journey toward MCC
organisations and providers seeking high-quality mentor coach development
A note for existing and new students:
Our existing 40 ICF CCE Mentor Coaching Certification remains in place and continues to be delivered. As the ICF system opens fully and once our AAMC approval is confirmed, existing and new students will have their certificates backdated to reflect the new framework.
This means you can begin now with confidence, knowing that you are joining a programme with a proven international track record and a clear pathway into the next phase of ICF mentor coach recognition.
Why choose this pathway:
Because mentor coaching deserves depth.
Because standards are rising.
Because quality feedback changes coaches.
Because reflective, relational and systemic mentor coaching creates stronger practitioners and stronger professions.
And because BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME has been at the forefront of award-winning coach education globally for years.
Ready to take your place on the next generation of mentor coach development?
“As part of my ongoing coaching development, I recently completed a COACH MENTOR programme with Dr. Clare at CoachME which provided a refreshingly different perspective to coaching. Having this certification enables me to mentor and supervise other coaches either in their workplace or on their journey towards accreditation.I thoroughly enjoyed the course and in particular appreciated the effort put in by Dr. Clare and Coach Sameera to provide well researched references and the classroom discussion which stimulated both introspective and reflective thinking, making the content more impactful and relevant.
If you believe you can become a coach mentor then this course is a great place to start and I wish you well on your journey to a brighter more accomplished coaching world”.

“I have learned Mentor Coach duties, responsibilities and competencies from this programme. I have also developed a lot through theory and practice during the training. Clare has deep knowledge and experience in coaching and mentoring. She uses friendly and powerful teaching techniques to help us understand key concepts and models. Through Clare’s feedback about my performance during the program, I have greatly developed and improved in mentor coaching.”

“Finding the right training programme is similar to finding the right coach for your needs at the time. Clare is definitely embracing coaching with all her heart and soul. I attended Clare’s Mentor Coaching Certification which was an excellent mix of practical mentor coaching sessions and exposure to different tools to extend coaching and mentor coaching skills. I have attended many MCC classes during my coaching journey – but genuinely felt “at home” with Clare. Clare has my full trust and the ability to bring the very best out of each individual, to fostering belief in themselves. Thank you Clare for supporting me to complete my PCC.”
