Description

Our ICF award-winning Mentor Coaching Certification is aligned with the 2025 ICF Core Competencies, ACC and MCC Minimum Skills Requirements (formerly BARS), and PCC performance markers. Recent updates from the International Coaching Federation retain the eight core competencies but refine expectations through the addition of five new sub-competencies, revisions to eleven existing sub-competencies, and the introduction of a coaching glossary to support clearer interpretation and assessment standards.

We explore together how these updates place greater emphasis on coach self-awareness, reflective practice, bias awareness, clearer coaching agreements, client-generated learning and action, and the ability to coach effectively within complex and diverse contexts. Our programme prepares mentor coaches to confidently support coaches working toward ACC, PCC and MCC credentials by developing the skills, knowledge and behavioural competencies required to assess coaching against ICF standards and provide developmental, competency-based feedback.

Key areas addressed in our Mentor Coaching Certification include:

  • Understanding the latest ICF competency refinements and terminology

  • Interpreting ACC plus MCC Minimum Skills Requirements and PCC performance markersused in ICF credentialing assessments

  • Observing coaching sessions and identifying strengths and development areas mapped to competencies

  • Providing clear, constructive and developmental feedbackaligned with ACC, PCC and MCC expectations

  • Supporting coaches to deepen coaching presence, listening, awareness and partnership with clients

  • Developing the capability to facilitate mentor coaching conversations that accelerate learning and professional growth

  • Understanding and practice ways of applying best practice in managing difficult conversations in mentor coaching session

  • Being fully averse with ICF credentialing and credential renewal requirements

  • Record keeping and other administrative requirements.

As with all programmes delivered by BECKETT MCINROY / CoachME, the training goes beyond competency interpretation by integrating systemic, relational and reflective approaches to professional development. The award-winning CoachME methodology has been delivered globally for more than 15 years and was the first coach training school to receive the ICF Coaching Impact Award, alongside the ICF Middle East Prism Award, reflecting its innovative contribution to coach education.

“As part of my ongoing coaching development, I recently completed a COACH MENTOR programme with Dr. Clare at CoachME which provided a refreshingly different perspective to coaching. Having this certification enables me to mentor and supervise other coaches either in their workplace or on their journey towards accreditation.I thoroughly enjoyed the course and in particular appreciated the effort put in by Dr. Clare and Coach Sameera to provide well researched references and the classroom discussion which stimulated both introspective and reflective thinking, making the content more impactful and relevant.

If you believe you can become a coach mentor then this course is a great place to start and I wish you well on your journey to a brighter more accomplished coaching world”.

“I have learned Mentor Coach duties, responsibilities and competencies from this programme. I have also developed a lot through theory and practice during the training. Clare has deep knowledge and experience in coaching and mentoring. She uses friendly and powerful teaching techniques to help us understand key concepts and models. Through Clare’s feedback about my performance during the program, I have greatly developed and improved in mentor coaching.”

“Finding the right training programme is similar to finding the right coach for your needs at the time. Clare is definitely embracing coaching with all her heart and soul. I attended Clare’s Mentor Coaching Certification which was an excellent mix of practical mentor coaching sessions and exposure to different tools to extend coaching and mentor coaching skills. I have attended many MCC classes during my coaching journey – but genuinely felt “at home” with Clare. Clare has my full trust and the ability to bring the very best out of each individual, to fostering belief in themselves. Thank you Clare for supporting me to complete my PCC.”
